When It Comes To The Things That We Let Go Of Or Hold On To … Choose Carefully!

The early part of the new year is always a time of intense implementation for me! It is the time when I am eager to establish new rhythms that will equip me to take on new realities that I have come to believe are required of me.

It is a passionate time of engagement when there are no excuses and no room for passivity.

I am focused, full-on and fired up … and the motivation that provokes all of this is this message that so profoundly stirs in my heart just now …

When It Comes To The Things That We Let Go Of Or Hold On To … Choose Carefully!
The scriptures teach us that the power of choice is both our greatest gift and our biggest burden. It can either lead us into God’s great favor or leave us ruined, literally a total failure!

Listen to this provocative reminder,“So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.” 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 (NLT)

Choices … drive our responses and every response will be eternally remembered.

They matter that much … they really do!

When It Comes To The Things That We Let Go Of Or Hold On To … Choose Carefully!
Ann White, in her article, Choosing Wisely In All Circumstances says this, “Very often, our choices are the very reason we’re in our circumstances in the first place. Therefore, it’s very important we choose wisely at all times. Choices are easier to make when we fully understand our options and fully grasp the consequences – both positive and negative.”

All so true … and now more than ever we need to get this right!

When It Comes To The Things That We Let Go Of Or Hold On To … Choose Carefully!
It will always be the things that we let go of or choose to hold on to that will

▪ Direct our faith development to healthy or unhealthy places
▪ Dictate our responses to ourselves and to others
▪ Decide our fate and the rate of our success or failure
▪ Deepen or weaken our resolve

The answer lies in our choices.

I love this quote from Charles R. Swindoll, “Only you can determine your choice of attitude. Choose wisely, choose carefully, choose confidently!”

Great word that will serve us well and lead us to even greater things!

This is where my heart is lingering at the moment … and it matters … it really does … for all of us!

I am in … and you?
