There Is Nothing More Powerful Than Loving And Being Loved … So, Love Lavishly … Today And Every Day

The love of God is pure and perfect in every way and knowing that we are loved by Him provides us with a keen sense of divine affirmation and it also provokes a deep awareness … that we called to love others wholeheartedly.

There Is Nothing More Powerful Than Loving And Being Loved … So, Love Lavishly … Today And Every Day

I John 3:1 proclaims this reality to us, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

Clearly, as children of God we are called to love others because we have been loved. No doubt this will be a challenge … even a very great challenge at times. However, it is His command and thus, it remains our call.

God’s love toward us is measured generously, sacrificially and yes, even lavishly.

His extravagant love redeems our lives fully and enables us to reach deeply into the hearts of others.

In her book, “Saved By Grace, Now What”, Pam Pegram articulates the potential of this divine exchange, “Because we love Jesus, we can love others well. We can open our hearts and learn to let God’s love pour out. That means we can learn to show love and respect, be kind and considerate, and forgive and let things go. The Bible tells us our love for Jesus will be apparent by how we love others. So, look within. If you have hard feelings and resentment toward others, scripture tells us in I John 4:19-20, We love because He first loved us. If someone says, ‘I love God’, and hates his brother he is a liar for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?”

The principle is made abundantly clear to us …

The truth is that loving others is never easy. People are not perfect in every way … not at all. Some are prickly or pushy, others can be disinterested and distant. Their walls are up and at times it seems like there is no way in!

All too often the thought of trying to love lavishly seems impossible.

It is critical that we remember that it is being loved by God that we are made ready to be loving towards others. In fact, the measure to which we are willing to be loved by God is what directly determines how loving we will be to others.

I cherish this invitation … seeing it taking shape in our hearts and staging up in our lives is such a delight.

We get more of God, and He gets more of us!

Now that is a win/win for sure … and we all know how much our world needs this kind of win!

Because of His great love all of this is possible!

I know I am in … and you?
