Complaining Or Changing … Making A Big Deal Or Making A Difference!

Now and again we all need to have an honest conversation with ourselves.

It seems that we often get stuck in negative patterns of thinking, responding and assessing. When left to our own devices we easily exaggerate realities and build positions that are flawed, thus assuring that we will fail to be and do all that is destined for us.

At the moment I am often reading reports of great global tragedies and thinking with my Convoy of Hope team as to how we could or should respond. The assessment data is deeply disturbing and the photos from the affected regions are painful to view.

By comparison, most of us have nothing to complain about … literally nothing … and yet, all too often we are complaining.

Here is a thought that I want us to consider.

Complaining Or Changing … Making A Big Deal Or Making A Difference!

This statement challenges me in a big way and I hope that it does the same for you!

As long as we are complaining there will be no changing! The time we spend “making a big deal” over small things robs us from “making a difference” in the real issues of life on every level.

We will need to make an intentional shift in our focus, response and understanding.

Complaining keeps us from engaging and makes our focus internal, our response self-centered and our understanding limited.

Changing, on the other hand, engages us and moves our focus outward, our response to the needs of others and our understanding to new levels.

Complaining Or Changing … Making A Big Deal Or Making A Difference!

Where do we stand on this?

I want to encourage all of us to stand on the side of “changing and making a difference” and stop wasting time, energy and potential on “complaining and making a big deal.”

More than ever this is where I want to live … how about you?

Let’s take this on … right now!

Are you in?
