Choose To Live Pursuing Destiny … Rather Than Being Pursued By Disruptive Distractions

Choose To Live Pursuing Destiny … Rather Than Being Pursued By Disruptive Distractions
To live our best life … this is a maxim that we must get right!

Though simply stated, this truth challenges all of us, in every way … at the deepest levels. Our spiritual progress, faith development and life fulfillment are all impacted by us getting this right.

Here is the reality represented in this truth … there is always an enduring battle between good and great.

You see, we can decide to turn from evil and do good … and that decision, once made, is defining and demonstrative. We know that we are turning from something and we are intentionally taking on something new. It is not a one-step process but it is clearly a definitive act that results in immediate change.

My story, like yours, confirms this and we know the joy of coming out of the darkness. There is nothing like it and when we have been set free, we know that we are free indeed!

However, the journey toward embracing our full destiny will take us beyond this transition and require us to engage in something even more challenging and confronting.

I am talking about the call to go from good to great!

This is the demand of destiny! It is not simply a matter of being in … it is about being ALL IN!

This part of our journey will be fraught with endless distractions that will cause us to battle fiercely.

Intense spiritual struggle will be our constant companion.

The scriptures are clear on this … look at Proverbs 4:25-27 (NIV)

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the[a] paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.”

Focus, fix your gaze and fight … for stability and straight paths so that we can finish strong.

This truth is also echoed for us in the New Testament … and Matthew 6 is the classic passage to consider. I would encourage you to read this chapter and take on all that is being presented and clarified.

The message in both passages is clear … we are called to move beyond the place of discerning good from evil and to bravely answer the call to embrace our destiny …. to dare to take on the transition of moving from good to great.

In reality, there will always be disruptive distractions to deal with … distractions that disturb our focus, disallow us to fix our gaze and seek to fully defeat us before we cross the finish line.

Here is why this matters …
▪ It is the pathway to our highest calling
▪ It is the pathway to opportunity
▪ It is the pathway of an overcomer

This choice stands in front of all of us! The call to pursue it is clear and the command of the Father is compelling.

I know I want to take this journey … will you go with me?
