Relational Care Really Matters … So, Build A Culture Of Care

All of us are keenly aware of the fact that our world is increasingly broken and in her brokenness, there is a deepening sense of hopelessness.

So much has been damaged and devoured and it seems that there are far too few pathways that can lead us to renewal and restoration.

While the world languishes and lingers behind, our society becomes more intensely toxic and intolerable.

The call to action continues to resound across our land.

What is abundantly clear is this …

Relational Care Really Matters … So, Build A Culture Of Care

Dr. Patricia Arredondo specifically addresses this in her article,”Creating a Culture of Caring and Kindness” …

“In these days of public displays of rudeness, disrespect, and other forms of psychological harm, I think promoting acts and environments of positive interpersonal caring can go a long way. Smiles, saying thank-you, holding the door open, and when necessary, saying “I apologize”, are gestures that can lessen tension at work and perhaps even contribute to a sense of individual well-being and connection.

We all know of businesses, organizations, and universities who model this so powerfully for us. Certainly, this is a social responsibility and we do want to celebrate those who take this on.

I am honored to give a shout-out to Convoy of Hope, where our leadership is committed to creating a culture of caring that will provide a safe place for all who serve with us.

However, long before this was a corporate mantra it was a biblical mandate.

We are instructed in the scriptures to love and not hate, to seek justice, to feed the poor, to show grace and generosity, and to care for orphans and widows.

It is our commitment to love at all times and that will enable us to build that culture of care.

Then, we need to add in the 100 “one another” New Testament passages that we find in 94 verses.

It is this culture of care that …

▪ blesses both the heart and the spirit of individuals and organizations
▪ benefits attitude and atmosphere
▪ brings peace and favor on every level

Relational Care Really Matters … So, Build A Culture Of Care

The theology of relational care provokes us to minister to the personal needs of others, especially those individuals who are going through crises of a temporal nature.

This is ours to take on … and wholeness is only possible when we seek to do this together.

I know what I want to do … how about you?
