Dig In Deep And Take Your Stand … That Is Exactly What Is In Demand

All of us are learning, or re-learning, many lessons in this unique season that we are living in.

Our hearts have been troubled, our sense of safety has been threatened and thoughts of anxiety and despair are tough, very tough for us to manage.

There is no doubt that we are living in a challenging time and here is a word that needs to be refreshed in our minds … and become a renewed mandate for all of us …

Dig In Deep And Take Your Stand … That Is Exactly What Is In Demand

The truth is that times of difficulty are intended to be times of development, as we put into play all that we have come to know.

What is in demand here is for us to walk in obedience.

Remember that obedience is comprised of two parts, knowledge and commitment.

In these days, we need to abide in the Word of God. We will likely need to read it more often and refer to it several times in the day. We will want to be intentional to meditate on it and to memorize it, as never before.

When we increase our knowledge in the Word of God we enhance our capacity to increase the level of our obedience to the Father.

Because we are more familiar with His Word we are more fully empowered to walk in His ways.

Growing in our knowledge of God and His Word must be coupled with commitment … simply the commitment to do what we know.

It seems that it is the pressure of troubled times that clarifies this for us and calls us back into the place that God wants us to be in.

I believe what Paul wrote to the church at Corinth has resounding value for all of us.

In 1 Corinthians 15:58, Paul is concluding his message and it has been primarily a message of confrontation and correction. His desire was to reset and re-establish the church there. He addresses many concerning issues that were coming at the church … from every direction.

He chooses to end with this overcoming reality, “With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.”

In other words …

As bad as it may have seemed to them at the time, as disappointing as it was to Paul to see this church in such disarray and as tragic as it looks to us initially … all was not lost.

Not then and not now!

In this current season … the call to us remains the same.

Our God has never stopped working, His plans are eternally created and His Kingdom will rule forever and ever.

These are the things that we believe and hope in … and there is no doubt that our faith and our labor will never be in vain.

No doubt at all!
