Changing Patterns of Global Migration and Remittances

According to a report reviewed on the website ‘PewSocialTrends.org‘, the total number of migrants moving from one nation to another nation (international) rose from 154 million in 1990 to 232 million in 2013 – but remained steady as a 3% share of the globe’s growing population.

The report reveals that a rising number of international migrants now live in high income countries such as the USA and Germany, ‘while a growing share was born in today’s middle income nations such as India and Mexico’.

The more that international migration increases, the more likely the need for international churches to meet the unique needs of internationals.
